Many Opinions

Last week we finished reading the book of Job to our children. And of so many rich lessons that the narrative offers, one stood out for our family and I would like to share it with you.

After Job’s tests, he declares that he has no peace, no tranquility, no rest, but only restlessness. In addition, his friends come to speak, accuse, and judge his condition based on their reason alone, regardless of what God thinks about the case.

Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar speak, and Job responds. And this sequence is repeated until Elihu, a young man full of reason, decides to speak the “truth” to all of them.

And then, finally, there is room for God to speak. But none of them waited for the Lord to speak, none of them asked the Lord about Job, preferring instead to issue their mistaken conclusions.

Back to the True Source of Life

See that this is the lifestyle that humanity received as a result of the disobedience of Adam and Eve. Since they decided to eat the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, and to obtain discernment of values, they stopped valuing the voice of God as their source of life.

On the other hand, Jesus said not to judge so that we are not judged. He did not say simply not to judge, because to judge in his words means to distinguish or decide, which is part of our daily lives. He himself directed us to judge fairly, and not just by appearance. But his warning is “so that” we are not judged so harshly. It is an alert back to our true source.

Jesus’ words call us back to the reality of Eden, before the disobedience of Adam and Eve. From every seed we plant we will certainly reap. A seed option is to choose the reason (soul) to express our own opinion, between good and evil. The other is to choose to simply listen (in the spirit) and obey God’s voice.

“For with you is the fountain of life; in your light do we see light.”

Psalm‬ ‭36:9

Choose God’s Voice as Your Source of Life

Choose to hear God’s voice before you speak, decide, and even think about something. Chase listening to God. Pay the price necessary to learn to understand your voice. And make it a habit in your life.

The apostle John, as well as the entire Bible, associates true justice only with the voice of God revealed in our inner being (in the spirit). He says that he who has a relationship with the Holy Spirit receives an anointing that teaches us all things, and we don’t need anyone to teach us. Our role is to remain faithful in that relationship, living only from the voice of God. There is a lot of religiosity complicating people’s relationship with God.

“Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father.”

Apostle John, 1 John‬ ‭2:24

Eliminate Distractions

Listening to God is very simple. He is always willing to talk to us and is the best communicator of all time. But we need to choose to listen to him above everything and everyone.

The voice of the Holy Spirit needs to be valued more than those people you have the highest regard for, perhaps your parents, pastors, mentors or friends. It is beyond pre-formatted, religious Bible reading, based on the teachings of others. And it must also be considered above our own values, pride and ambitions. To hear God, we need to welcome the Holy Spirit into our lives and prioritize his voice.

“But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in him.”

Apostle John, 1 John‬ ‭2:27

Generate Your Relationship with the Holy Spirit

It is like the DNA of the parents being transferred to the child, which forms only what it receives from them. The Holy Spirit is the only one who can teach you what you need most in every situation. Everything else needs to be put aside, including people around you and your own ego.

Just as Job was declared righteous by God Himself, your choices and the outcome in your own life will be the best because you will be living from the voice of the Holy Spirit within you. Not from your soul, nor from the opinion of others, but from the true source of life.

“If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him.”

Apostle John, ‭1 John‬ ‭2:29

Conclusion

The only source of true life is the voice of God. Regardless of the situation you are currently facing, your suffering, and the opinions of others, He speaks on your behalf. Your best choice is to put aside what others have to say about God and decide to listen to Him in person.

To do this, trade your concern for peace that results only from a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. Choose to wait until He speaks within you, and you will have no doubt. His sweet voice is unmistakable. Then you will enjoy the true source of life for you and your whole family.

“Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.”

Apostle Paul, ‭‭I Corinthians‬ ‭4:5

Prayer: Holy Spirit of God, be welcome in my life. I regret the intentions of my distant heart from You. And I ask You to forgive me and teach me to live guided by Your voice from now on, in Jesus‘ name. Amen.
