Plans for prosperity, hope and a future

God has a plan for each of us. But none of us know it in detail. Still, we have some clues that indicate the direction and characteristics of this plan. You will get more about it in this post.

The Lord was with Joseph

Joseph was one of the sons of Jacob. Preferred by his father, since his adolescence he was a dreamer. In fact, we all are, but he really valued his dreams. And sharing them with his family created problems with his brothers without even wanting to, and he also planted seeds of his trust in God that resulted in excellent fruits.

The Bible says that the Lord was with Joseph when he was mistreated by his brothers and sold through a caravan of Ismaelites to Egypt, where God’s blessing was recognized over his life. The Lord was with Joseph and prospered him.

The Lord was with Joseph, and he became a successful man, and he was in the house of his Egyptian master.

Genesis 39:2

After another betrayal in the house where he worked, Joseph was thrown into prison. And hope was the strongest mark in that episode of his life. In the midst of the difficulties he faced for many years, he did not forget God’s dreams for him. The Lord was with Joseph and gave him hope.

The keeper of the prison paid no attention to anything that was in Joseph’s charge, because the Lord was with him. And whatever he did, the Lord made it succeed.

Genesis 39:23

And later in his history, at the age of 30, Joseph was elevated to the post of governor of Egypt, after interpreting Pharaoh’s dreams. By a divine appointment, Jacob sent his sons to Egypt to buy food after a long period of famine in that region. And the Lord was with Joseph giving him the future that saved his entire family.

And now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life.

Genesis 45:3

Dreams and Plans

We can say that those dreams we dream while sleeping are not distinguished from those that reveal God’s plans for our future. From answers to small problems to come, to solutions for the distant future, dreams are one of the main ways God speaks to us.

Children and adults, believers and unbelievers, people from all cultures and at all times in history can use their intelligence to discern God’s plans for their lives through dreams. They will include a process involving people, places, disappointments and joys.

Conclusion

Something that is certain is that the dreams that God has for those who seek him are marked by prosperity, hope and a future. So change your short-term vision, anxieties and concerns today for God’s dreams for your life and family. And the way you do it is by seeking the Lord with all your heart.

I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.  Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you. You will seek me, and you will find me because you will seek me with all your heart.

Jeremiah 9:11-13

Prayer: God, I thank you for your love and faithfulness. I ask you to give me dreams that reveal your plans for my life and give me wisdom to understand them well. I decide to exchange my short-term vision for your dreams for my life and family, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
