Repentance: The Path of Abundant Life for Your Family

Repentance is a common need of all people and families. Daily intentions and attitudes that are not the best generate negative results. And it hurts our relationships. Instead of living accumulating mistakes and their losses, there is an excellent option called repentance.

A call from God

This matter is so serious that the Bible always associates it with an urgent calling. Soon in the early chapters of Genesis, God uses questions to deal with Adam and then his son Cain after they have erred in their decisions. Where are you? Why are you furious? A question is the best way to get someone’s attention and show that one is available for reconciliation.

Then the shofar begins to be used by the leaders of the people of Israel to call them to repentance. The prophet Joel declares, “Blow a trumpet in Zion: sound an alarm on my holy mountain.” This is what John the Baptist, the prophet who paved the way for the ministry of Jesus, did. His urgent message urged all to repent, for the Kingdom of God was at hand.

Blow a trumpet in Zion;
sound an alarm on my holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble,
for the day of the Lord is coming; it is near,

Prophet Joel 2:1

This call to repentance is not out of fashion. It was not restricted to the days when Jesus walked the earth. The need for repentance is daily for each individual. And now is the time to reflect on what areas of your life need to be adjusted and who needs to be reached with your attitude change.

The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.

Repentance is the best route

The main excuse to escape from repentance is pride. It paralyzes anyone’s life. Pride is like a heavy necklace. Everyone perceives it quickly but this ornament does not match a successful person. Pride precedes folly and shame.

But when you choose to humbly repent, you automatically have a promise of peace and prosperity. True repentance is the virtuous decision back to God. A return, a change of course, a noble attitude for better results.

From there, you can be quiet and rest, for God will adjust everything around you for your good. By devoting yourself to a life of constant repentance and correction in your behavior, your family will greatly benefit. Your attitudes will be admirable and will inspire everyone around you.

The Sovereign LORD, the holy God of Israel, says to the people, “Come back and quietly trust in me. Then you will be strong and secure.”

The Prophet Isaiah 30:15

Repentance is your best decision

Repentance is not advanced knowledge. It is a basic and urgent theme for your life. If you recognize that you have difficulty assimilating this subject, ask for help from someone you trust and start investing in that area. You and everyone around you will benefit from this decision.

So adjust your GPS by the route of repentance. Let your heart be humble moment by moment to apologize whenever necessary and act with more nobility. You and your family will enjoy God’s favor by appreciate repentance.
